What have we been up to?
The spring term was an extremely busy one and with the help of some great volunteers we transformed the Rainbow pre-school playground. Staff, Committee and parents gave up their weekends to help moving sheds, painting fences and the installation of a new outside canopy to allow the children to free flow. We would like to thank all these people whom without their help this would not have been possible. Gamlingay Parish Council kindly donated the canopy, astro turf and railway sleepers from the old WI building. Halls Haulage a local family run business helped with the use of one of their lorries and forklift to remove the canopy. “no mean feat I can tell you on a cold February morning.”
With money raised and donated to the pre-school we have had an office built. This has freed up much needed space inside the setting to make way for a more spacious play area with defined areas to learn and play.
With money accumulated by fundraising and the kind parents using his woodwork skills to build us hutch, the pre-school purchased a few fury friends for the children to enjoy in their new garden. Our four Guinea pigs will help teach children the responsibility of caring for and looking after pets.
